Fantastic site! Was not aware of your work ’til today but I noticed you said to get in touch if we find a dead sunfish. I’m not sure what format you want or what specific information, but to start things off I found on recently in northern Oregon, USA. You can see a photo here http://theoutershores.com/wrack-line/wrack-line-2015/ You’ll have to scroll down to September 6, 2015 to see it, along with a bunch of other stuff I found on the beach that day. I found it quite early in the morning, but the gulls beat me too it and ate the eyeballs, as you can see. Otherwise it was in good shape; pretty small…I didn’t measure it but I estimate around 60 cm long, something close to that. Let me know if you want any more information. Again, very nice website. You’ll see I like beach combing too.

Hi Steve, thanks for your comment, I’ve just been looking at your website and I love your photos! Thanks for the information on the sunfish, could you tell me anymore about the location where you found it? If I can find it on google earth and approximate a latitude and longitude then I can include this in a mapping study of ocean sunfish and for so far north this could be a really valuable addition! Thanks again for your help I really appreciate your time. Best wishes, Natasha

I sent you an email with a pin on google earth; it’s my best estimate of the location. Good luck with the mapping work.

Hello, I would like to know how I might get in touch with you about some paleontological research my museum is doing on Molas. We need help looking into modern Molas (all extant species) in order to potentially reclassify mislabeled Mola fossils found in the Chesapeake from the Miocene epoch. Please feel free to email me with your response if you are interested in offering any assistance.

Hi Natasha
Do you have any info on Ranzania laevis larval and juvenile stages please ? I am doing a paper on some larval specimens collected off the MAD-Ridge seamount south of Madagascar. Regards, Dr Shael Harris

Hi Dr Shael, that sounds fascinating. I’m sorry that I have only worked on Mola previously, but I would be very keen to hear more about your research. Please let me know when you publish your work! Best wishes, Natasha
